September 20 @ 1:00 pm
Considered the most successful experimental research aircraft ever flown, North American’s X-15 was not only the first airplane to fly Mach 4, 5, and 6, but also above 200,000 and 300,000 feet – all in the early 1960s. Author Michelle Evans, an expert on the famed “X-Planes” of Edwards AFB, devoted her career to the study and documentation of these exotic one-of-a-kind aircraft, and will offer valuable insights into the historic X-15 Program.
